SEO 101 for designers

seoSearch engine ranking affects the amount of traffic coming to a website in a big way. Rarely do users go past the second page of search engines when searching for something. Therefore, it is important to have your website on the first two pages for you to get any substantial traffic.

A business owner loves to put up a website. In fact, this is the way to reach millions of people in the market to buy your products and services. But the problem you might encounter once you have the website is how people or online visitors will discover it. Whether you have a big or small company, having a website makes a difference. In prominent search engines, so long as your site is ranked on the topmost pages, you have every which way to compete with big online stores like Amazon, Microsoft and eBay.

Google Changes Algorithm To Penalize Site Scrapers

Sunday, 30 January 2011 10:54 Published in BLOG

Google updated its search algorithm this week to help reduce webspam in its search results.

These changes were made in response to increased criticism of Google and its search engine results. The criticism has been partly inspired by the emergence of newer forms of webspam alongside traditional webspam (pages that consist of lots of keywords and phrases without context or meaning that “cheat” their way up to higher search ranks).

Hi, this is Chantel Robinson. I found 9andsomechange on craigslist. I called Tom right away. I had an existing website that I needed redesigned. Tom gave me some great ideas and we started right away. We worked on it together, I mean literally I was on my computer and he was on his computer and I would tell him changes I wanted right then and there and he was able to make the changes live which was very helpful. I would advise anyone who needs a website or already have one that needs upgrades to use 9andsomechange. Tom is fast, easy to work with, and would refer him to anyone as I am very happy with his services.

www.docktalesshow.com is a full CSS / HTML design.  John and Kim were so easy and fun to work with.  Kim contact me from my craigslist marketing ads. They needed a website that would showcase their passion for boating and explore a possibility of a reality tv show.
We hired Tom to create our website in March of 2010. Before any work began, Tom discussed with me on the phone details about the project as well as expectations and advice. It was clear to me from the very start that Tom not only had a lot of working knowledge about building sites, but has a high level of integrity as well. I was on a pretty tight budget and Tom was able to make sure that all the pages and information I needed were going to be made available. Tom also beat his original date of delivery which was unexpected. If Tom says he is going to do something, I can rest assured that it will be done in a VERY timely manner. When given the choices from LinkedIn to pick the THREE best attributes for Tom and 9andsomechange.com, I had a difficult time being limited to only three. If I could have; I would have chosen ALL of the listed attributes

It may be hyperbole, but copy as we know it is nearly useless. Why is that? First we must define what copy is: copy is marketing text designed to persuade users to take action. Today, copy is less successful at persuading users and moving them forward than it has been in the past. Marketing and branding is changing, especially on the web.

www.proquallandscaping.com is a full CSS / HTML design.  Scott and Gina contact me from my craigslist marketing ads. They already had their domain and hosting but just needed a complete redesign. Scott expressed that their current design was not functional and needed a cleaner more professional feel and look.  After doing a couple mock ups we agreed on the design and began coding.  After 2 weeks the website was exactly what they wanted.  If you own a landscape company and need an affordable, functional, and professional website call now and lets get started.
